Mentoring Program Goals

1. The program is designed to provide a smooth transition through personal orientation to the community, district, building, and the department. This will include school climate, resources available, personnel, procedures, and policies unique to (your school).

2. The mentor will serve as a resource in developing classroom strategies and classroom management through peer observation, peer coaching, and peer support.

3. Through mutual trust and respect, the mentor will provide assistance and guidance to enhance the personal and professional growth of the new teacher. This assistance will be confidential, non-evaluative, and will not become a part of the protégé's personnel file.
