Edward Lake began his Undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago receiving a BA in the Teaching of English and began teaching at George Washington High School, a Chicago Public School. Between his first and second years teaching at this school, he was selected for a summer teaching program in Taiwan and China, where he began to develop an interest in the cultural influences of curriculum design and instruction.
After his second year teaching at George Washington HS, He took up a position teaching English at Nankai University in Tianjin, China. While living in China Edward was able to collaborate with a number of local Chinese teachers as well as international school teachers and was involved in teacher observation and educational research.After one year in China, Edward returned to the US to finish his MEd in Curriculum and Instruction at National-Louis University, while also teaching at Thornridge High School in Dolton, Il. After completing his MEd, Edward returned to Asia, but this time to The Chinese International School of Singapore, where he is currently in his third year teaching English, Theory of Knowledge and acting as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Edward is also currently working towards his Doctorate of Education at Walden University
